How do I set up an LLC (SRL) in the Republic of Moldova in 2026? Steps, documents and costs

In short: an LLC is registered with the Public Services Agency (PSA), online or in person, within 3 working days of filing a complete application. The registration fee is 1 149 lei. With the name reservation (71 lei) and the mandatory register extract (110 lei), state fees come to 1 330 lei.

What do you need to decide before going to the PSA?

These details go into the articles of association and the application. Changing them after registration requires a separate procedure, filed with the PSA within 30 days of the decision. Tick off each item as you settle it; the list is saved in this browser.

How do you file the application and how long does it take?

Choose one of the two routes; the list changes depending on your choice.

In practice, setting up the company takes 3 working days from filing; the PSA's statutory deadline for the registration itself is 24 hours. You receive the registration decision, the articles of association, the extract from the State Register and the IDNO (state identification number), which is also the company's tax code.

How much does it cost to set up an LLC in 2026?

State fees start at 1 330 lei for a standard online registration. Choose the turnaround times you need and the calculator shows the total. The fees are set by Government Decision No. 966/2020.

Worked example. A sole founder in Chișinău with an electronic signature opens the company online at standard speed: 71 + 1 149 + 110 = 1 330 lei. The same application with a 24-hour reservation, 4-hour registration and 24-hour extract: 142 + 4 596 + 220 = 4 958 lei. The extra 3 628 lei saves 1–2 working days; it only makes sense when a contract has a fixed date.

The electronic signature and opening a bank account cost extra, at rates set by the provider and the bank.

What do you do after registration, before your first invoice?

The company legally exists from the day of the PSA decision. To receive payments and report correctly, there are four more things to do.

The extract from the State Register, mandatory110 lei within 3 working days (PSA). Order it right after registration.
The company bank accountWith the registration decision and the articles of association.
Access to the STS e-servicesUsing the director's electronic signature. This is where tax returns are filed.
An accountant, chosen from the first monthReturns must be filed even in months with no activity.

A company seal is not mandatory; the PSA makes one only on request. You do not need to register separately with the STS: the tax code is the IDNO you receive from the PSA.

When does this list not apply?

The list covers an LLC with founders from the Republic of Moldova, registered in 2026. The procedure is different if:

A founder or director is a foreign national. You also need a passport, a translated and apostilled extract for the parent company and the director's IDNP (PSA).
The activity is regulated (audit, non-bank lending, security services, e-money). First obtain approval from the relevant authority, for example the National Bank of Moldova (NBM).
You are opening a different legal form (sole proprietorship, joint-stock company, NGO). The documents and fees are different.
